Enjoy the Great Outdoors in Northeast Tennessee

Do you love exploring the great outdoors? Are hiking, biking, camping, or fishing some of your favorite activities? If you answered yes, then Northeast Tennessee is the perfect spot for your next expansion.

In addition to our strong economy, excellent infrastructure, and low cost of living, residents of Northeast Tennessee enjoy an active lifestyle. Our region is nestled between North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky in the Appalachian Mountains, boasting 230 miles of internationally known rivers and 288 miles of the Appalachian Trail.

Northeast Tennessee is home to some of the nation’s most beautiful parks and forests — including Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee National Forest, and Roan Mountain State Park — which provide a picturesque setting for hiking and camping. The little ones in your family will especially enjoy checking out the Knoxville Zoo or Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium, which has animal habitats for wolves, bobcats, and reptiles. You can also hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a scenic drive through Southern Appalachia.

There are countless ways to enjoy nearly every outdoor activity here in Northeast Tennessee. Bicyclists can enjoy the 35-mile Virginia Creeper Trail that winds through Southwest Virginia or Tannery Knobs Mountain Bike Park, which covers 40 acres of wooded terrain near downtown Johnson City. If you’re looking to hit the links, Cattails at Meadowview in Kingsport is one of the top public golf courses in the Tennessee and some of the nation’s top private golf courses are just across the Virginia state line. Thanks to our region’s many lakes, rivers, and streams, water sports and activities are very popular here. Watauga Lake, Holston River, and New River provide the ideal place to spend the day boating, floating, or fly-fishing. For the more adventurous, Nolichucky River and Russell River offer roaring rapids for white water rafting and kayaking.

Expanding your MRO operations to Aerospace Park gives you access to endless opportunities to stay active and enjoy a great quality of life.
